COVID19 Vaccinations

We hope to offer COVID19 vaccinations soon. However, similar to many other smaller GP practices, we have not yet received confirmation from the HSE of when this will happen. When we do have a confirmed date, we will be pro-actively contacting all eligible patients, starting with those over the age of 85, to offer them the vaccine.

Please do not contact the clinic enquiring about when it will be available (we don't know yet) or asking to be on a priority list (at the moment it is just based on age and there is no other "priority" list).

Thanks for your patience!

Life is too short to let your menopause get in the way.

Symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, poor sleep, fatigue, memory problems and low libido are common symptoms of the menopause or peri-menopause. Some women may get such symptoms as early as in their thirties. In many cases, as periods may be ongoing and blood tests normal, such symptoms may not be accurately identified and managed.

If you think that you could be suffering from menopausal symptoms, Dr. Cassie McVeigh is available for consultation. Contact the clinic on 0719648043 for more information.

Nasal flu vaccine available for all children aged between 2 and 17

The HSE have extended availability of the seasonal flu vaccine to now include all children between the ages of two and seventeen inclusive.

The vaccine is a safe, quick and painless nasal spray. As well as protecting the young people themselves, it is also an important way to protect more vulnerable people that they may come into contact, which is especially likely around Christmas time.

The vaccine is free of charge for all children in this age range. A walk-in service is available on Monday and Wednesday afternoons during December or on other days by appointment. Call 0719648043 for more information.

Telemedicine Service via Doxy.me

There are many elements of General Practice that could safely be performed remotely through telemedicine, particularly when the doctor is already familiar with the patient and has access to their full medical history, medications, test results etc.

I am pleased to announce that we are now offering a telemedicine service using the Doxy.me platform. It is simple to use for both patient and doctor and does not require the downloading of any software or apps.

Free MMR Booster to be considered for all patients age 11-40

There is currently an outbreak of mumps in the community affecting young people. It can cause serious complications such as male sterility. Vaccination is the only protection against contracting this preventable disease.

The HSE are recommending that all patients from age 11-30 should ensure that they have received two doses of the MMR vaccine. Those who have not received two doses, or who are uncertain whether they have or not done so, should receive a single MMR booster dose. This is offered free of charge to all patients, GMS and private, who are in the age range of 11-40.

Please make an appointment to see nurse Mairead to avail of this free service.
